Dr. Kenneth J. Koval is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma. With more than three decades of experience, Dr. Koval is nationally recognized for his leadership in fracture care, orthopaedic education, and research advancing the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Tufts University, Dr. Koval earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in New York City, followed by a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of South Florida – Tampa General Hospital.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Koval has held leadership and teaching positions at several top academic institutions, including:

• Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, NYU and Dartmouth Medical School
• Professor and Director of Orthopaedic Research, Orlando Regional Medical Center
• Chief, Fracture Service, Hospital for Joint Diseases – New York University School of Medicine

Most recently, he served as Staff Orthopaedist at Pikeville Medical Center in Kentucky, continuing to provide trauma care while mentoring the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.

He has also served on national committees for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and the U.S. Bone and Joint Decade Initiative.
